KT Farmer
is a queer costume designer and illustrator from Atlanta, Georgia. In 2025, they completed their MFA in theatre design from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale and in 2022, they received their BFA in theatre costume design and technology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). During their education, KT has built a diverse repertoire of advanced skills in illustration, costume design, character design, costume crafts and painting, mask making, and costume technology.
As a costume designer, KT is naturally drawn to the man within monsters (and vise versa). They love to study the beauty found in the grotesque, and seek to bring the fascinating dichotomy of the human form’s elegance and horror to the stage.
Utilizing their background in visual arts, they regularly enjoy hand painting their artistic style onto the clothing and characters they design.
KT has worked as costume designer on a number of productions, including the premier of The Maenads at The Tank NYC (2025), Yale Repertory Theatre’s The Inspector (2025), and Yales Shakespeare Repertory Project’s hamlet, princesa de dinamarca (2024).
Having worked in illustration and comicing, KT is the author and artist of the webcomic My Dear Death (2021), and designed characters and assets for the award winning animated short Cosmic Clash (Snack Cake Studios, 2019). In addition, they have worked as a freelance illustrator and painter for over a decade.
When they are not working in theatre, KT can often found painting, building cosplays, collecting Pokémon cards, and doting on their cat.
